What Is a Homepage Block?

The Crowdsourcing platform's homepage consists of multiple "blocks" organized sequentially.

There are several types of blocks : 

• Selected Articles Carrousel
  • Highlight specific articles
• Articles Slider Carousel
  • Display the latest articles published on the platform
• Selected Challenges Carrousel
  • Highlight specific challenges
• Challenges Slider Carousel
  • Display the different challenges that are ongoing on the platform
• Departments Slider Carousel
  • Highlight the different departments or business units set up on your Crowdsourcing instance
• HTML Section
  • A rich text and HTML bloc to give maximum flexibility to our admins
• Selected Content Carrousel
  • Highlight specific contents from the platform
• Content Slider Carousel
  • Display contents based on your own filters: content types, labels, challenges. etc...
• Links Slider Carousel
  • Add a list of URLs to the homage block
• Photo Section
  • Upload an image file to the homepage block
• Selected Survey Block
  • Highlight a specific Survey
• Most recent Survey Block
• Text Section
  • A block of text using Plain Text Format
• Video Section
  • Upload a video file to the homepage block
• Youtube Video Section
  • Embed a video from Youtube or hosted-video websites

How to Create a Block

• To create your first block, click on add a section
• Select the language.

Be careful: your new block will be visible only to users whose language preferences match the languages that you have selected.

• Define the position of the block by setting a numerical value.

The closer to 0, the higher it will be displayed on your homepage. We advise you to choose to place them every 5 blocks so you can add block later in between if needed.

i.e. 0, 5, 10, 15. etc.

• Select the type of block you want to use
  • For Selected Articles, Challenges, Contents, and Surveys you have the ability to display specific contents by adding their unique ID's
• Enter a title for your block. This will appear on the top left corner of your block. Do not forget to translate it if you want it to be visible in other languages
• Click on Add an element.
• Your block has been created.
• To add a second block, repeat the same operation and click on Add a section

Note:

Blocks with the same number can be placed adjacent to each other. Note that this does not apply to carousels.

How to find Content IDs : 

To locate the content ID, go to the Dashboard landing page and navigate to the contents section. Click on a content to find the content ID on the top left corner. Select the number that appears after the pound sign.

To locate the ID of a particular challenge, navigate to the challenges section and click on "Details" to open the challenge. The ID you need will be located at the end of the URL for that challenge, after the final slash. You can copy the ID from the URL.

Then we are going to copy the ID of an article. Go to the Articles section. Open one of them. As for the challenges, the ID of the article appears in its url, after the last slash.
